Original letter enclosed with manuscript Camiling (Tarlac) 11 October 1901 date. Manila (14 October 1901) Transit circular date stamp on reverse. Warren (2 December 1901) R.I. Receiving and Transit circular date cancels on reverse and front respectively. Richmond Springs (3 December 1901) Receiving circular date backstamp. Common rough opening on top, clear of stamp. Letter enclosed with reference to the war against Aguinaldo with a drawing of the Aguinaldo seal, plus a short note to his daughter also enclosed. Very interesting cover and great postal history story. Note: Bautista (Pangasinan) is the Neighbouring town just west of Camiling (Tarlac), near the Tarlac-Pangasinan provincial boundary.

Scott 226. Used. Colour post card featuring Japanese family on rickshaw. Scarce SS Panay (29 January 1906) CGS Departure Duplex cancel and Manila (30 January 1906) Transit circular date stamp. Heavy bend on top right corner otherwise a nice looking cover. Very scarce cancel. Note: Card would have been carried by SS Panay to Manila where it entered into the regular postal system. CGS (Coast and Geodetic Service) was typically used on ships that were conducting extensive mapping of the Philippine Islands, including coastal charts, triangular networks and geographical surveys, which started in the early 1900s.

Very scarce and seldom offered. Scott Cat $375. Note: This stamp was part of a well-known block of thirty-six stamps, appearing as the top left stamp (position 1 in the block), with block referenced via the following link.
