Stampless Cover. Dateline: 13 July 1859 Domestic cover from
Lingayen (Pangasinan) addressed to Aguirre y Cia, Manila. Small Blue Manila
Baeza (15 July 1859) receiving circular date stamp. It is more than likely a

when the first adhesive stamps were issued. Despite faults, a very
interesting cover. |

Scott 1 FORGERY. Used. 1854 Queen
Isabella 5c Orange. Good colour with four good excellent margins, all clear
of frame lines. A very dangerous forgery with a well-executed bogus Baeza
circular date stamp that has a consistent date of 16 January 1851 (over two
years before the genuine stamps were issued). Trivial margin corner bend on
bottom right noted for accuracy, otherwise a sound stamp. Great specialist
lot. Gooding #1F2. |

bottom of cover. Couple of hinge remnants on reverse and some minor toning
noted. Despite faults, a nice cover of this much sought after issue. Note: This issue needs to be tied with an
identifiable Philippine cancel, which is required on this stamp to prove
Philippine usage. |

Scott 8 COVER. 1863 Cover from Manila
to Cadiz, Spain, via Gibraltar. Dateline: Lingayen 25 October 1863. There are
some concerns about the stamp affixed as it appears there is edge toning
where two stamps may have once been applied (most likely two 1r stamps).
Possibly stamps were removed and replaced with a different 1r stamp. Manila
(2 November 1863) Departure circular date stamp. Algeciras (9 January 1864)
Transit and Cadiz (10 January 1864) Receiving circular date backstamps. A

Scott 10 COVER. 1861 Cover from Manila
to Daraga, Albay. 5c stamp affixed on top left, paying single weight domestic
rate. Stamp tied with Manila (31 June 1861) Small black Baeza departure
circular date stamp. Part of the cancel has been altered (see comparison
scans above with two genuine June cancels on left and right of enlarged cover
photo). Possibly stamp added and cancel over stamp was hand drawn, most
visible on the U and N in JUN. Or, possibly a very light strike which has
been enhanced for clarity. Interestingly, the cancel shows the date of 31
June, where there are only 30 days in June. Note, the two single stamps are
not included and are shown purely for illustrative purposes only. Sold As Is. |
