Spanish-Philippine Gutters
A Gutter is defined as ‘the selvage, either
unprinted or with plate numbers, advertising or accounting or control
numbers, between the panes of a sheet of stamps’. During the reign of King Alfonso XIII,
a number of sheets were issued comprising of two or three panes of stamps,
each pane separated by gutters. Between 1890 and 1898, a total of 21 separate
issues were printed in sheets containing gutters. |
