Spanish-Philippine Gutters

A Gutter is defined as ‘the selvage, either unprinted or with plate numbers, advertising or accounting or control numbers, between the panes of a sheet of stamps’.

During the reign of King Alfonso XIII, a number of sheets were issued comprising of two or three panes of stamps, each pane separated by gutters. Between 1890 and 1898, a total of 21 separate issues were printed in sheets containing gutters.

The 1894 printing comprised of two panes of 50 stamps,
each with gutter between panes.
Left pane cliché type II and right pane cliché type I

and the centre pane cliché type II.
Thus there are two possible gutter types:
