Scott 52 with SB&Co Perfin (good colour but cut into on top and left margins and blunt perfs on right). Scott 89 with RR&Co Perfin (fresh colour and nice surcharge, large tear on bottom right corner but clear of perfin). Any Spanish period Perfins are very scarce and seldom offered. Nice despite faults.

Cheque. 1925 The Peoples National Bank Cheque with two 2c red Documentary stamps affixed on reverse and tied with hole punch cancellation and 28 September 1925 Bank handstamp. Some soiling on back with hinge remnants. Check made out to Mrs Leonard Wood, and endorsed by her on the back. Leonard Wood (1860-1927) was the US Governor General for Cuba (1899-1902), Governor of Moro Province (1903-1906), Chief of Staff of the US Army (1910-1914), and US Governor General of the Philippines between 1921 and 1927 (at the time this check was drawn). A great historical piece with military linkage. Average condition but a nice looking item.

The true bible for the Japanese Occupation of the Philippines, a very detailed reference for this period which expands to include censor usage, postmarks, postal rates, prison of war mail, Guerrilla mail etc. Front cover (paper part) damaged and taped to restore tears, however hard cover is intact and not damaged. Pages are intact and clean throughout. A must reference for this period and very seldom offered. [Due to weight, postage for this lot is $40].
