As per French-British treaties a total of 2-shillings 3-pence charged to the
recipient (with manuscript 2/3 on front). Original two page letter remains

Scott NB8 - Unlisted. Mint (OG, NH). Unissued variety of the Scott NB8
souvenir sheet. This unlisted variety was discovered and looted from the
Manila Central Post Office on 22 February 1945 during the battle for the
liberation of Manila. Most of the printing was destroyed by fire with only
around 100 undamaged examples reported to have survived. This souvenir sheet
shows the frame around the stamps with double border lines in green. The top
inscription is the same as the issues sheet but there is an inscription
located at the right centre of this sheet. The inscription on the bottom is
replaced with the date Disyembre 30, 1943. This is
a very fine copy, with no faults and very seldom offered so fine. A chance to
own one of the gems of the Japanese Occupation period. |
