Typical tropical staining and ink oxidation, common on domestic covers of this period. 5c paying single weight domestic rate. Scarce cover.

Scott 145 (3). Cover to Tycroes, Anglesea, Wales with three 2c stamps tied with elliptical dotted cancel (first we have seen on cover). Most likely non-Manila originating. Correos Manila (24 November 1894) transit CDS on reverse. Small tear on bottom and other minor faults not detracting from the overall striking appearance. Tycroes (26 December 1894) receiving CDS on reverse. Scarce postal usage.

Scarce usage of the 1c stamp on an outbound printed matter cover. The original price of this cover at previous auction was 100 Euros. Very Nice looking partial cover despite faults.

Red handstamp on reverse stating: Mails dropped in vessels buzon always delayed in delivery. Advise correspondent drop his mail in post office buzon whenever possible. Open on both sides (rough opening on left side). Minor tear top left, supported by hinge on back flap. Appealing cover.

Any covers with intact booklet panes are scarce, moreso non-Manila originating covers. Gorgeous despite opening faults.

Scott 416. Cover with 12c Philippine stamp used in Brisbane, Australia, tied with Brisbane (19 December 1938) boxed slogan cancel, addressed to Rose Bay, New South Wales, Australia. Very unusual, and appears to have been accepted through the postal system. Unusual, and first we have seen as such used in Australia.

Scott 425 (2), 426 (3), 427 (3). Large Registered Official Cover from Bureau of Posts, Manila to Hong Kong. All stamps tied with Manila (8 February 1937) Circular Date Stamps. Diagonal and Vertical folds to reduce overall size of cover for mounting purposes. Two rectangular boxed Registration handstamps on reverse. Nice use of the Eucharistic Congress issue. One stamp (most likely 2c from possible strip of three) missing from top right corner. Faults expected.

Scott 435 (2). Censor Cover to Pondicherry, French India. Stamps tied with Indistinct town (20 November 1941) Circular Date Stamp. Roughly opened on top and horizontal fold across top part of both stamps (but intact). Purple Not Opened by Censor rectangular handstamp on front. Passed by Censor tape on left and corresponding triangular Passed by Censor handstamp on front and reverse. Couple of very interesting boxed handstamps on reverse (one requesting return address on future letters). Victoria, Hongkong (29 November 1941) Transit Date Stamp on reverse. A great censor cover to a very scarce destination. Fantastic show piece where faults add to the overall beauty of this well-travelled cover.

Edifil 1. Unused. 1878 50m Tarjeta Postal. Very fine with lovely overall appearance, with tiny paper abrasion on the back which is mentioned for accuracy. Very rare and seldom offered. A renowned auction house from Spain is currently offering such a card at 2,200 Euros. These cards have, based on results from previous sales, regularly fetched four-figure sums. The estimate in a previous HR Harmer auction for a comparable card was between $3,000 and $4,000. Without a doubt, this is the gem of Spanish Philippine postal cards collections.
