Cover. 1848 Cover from Manila
to London, via Singapore and Marseilles. Manila (20 March 1848) Manuscript
date. Further notation on reverse indicating cover was sent via Russell &
Sturgis (forwarding agent). Singapore boxed transit cancel and 24 May 1848
receiving circular date stamp on reverse. The cover was carried to Marseilles
and overland via France to London. According to the French-British treaties,
a total of 2-shillings 3-pence was invoiced to the
recipient. Original two page letter remaining intact. Scarce early usage. |

Scott 144 (2). 2c Claret. Two stamp used on small piece (partial
German Postal Card) with Ponape, Carolinas Cancel.
The German Post Office in Ponape, Caroline Islands
was founded on 12 October 1899, where German postage stamps were used. Prior
to this date, Spanish stamps were used in Ponape
and cancelled with a Spanish Official Seal. In late 1899, old Spanish stamps
were stamped as a favour on German mail pieces with the application of the
old Spanish Official Seal. Very scarce and seldom offered. A complete cover with the same Ponape cancel used on this piece was sold in by Gartner
Auction in February 2019 for 10,500 Euros plus premium. |

1946 Independence Seal (six copies, scan only showing two). Mint (NG). Issued
to finance the Independence Drive and depicts 'Mother America' handing over
the flag of independence to a young Filipina. Couple with minor colour
bleeding, otherwise a nice group. |
